Repeaters effectively double the length of a bus network by connecting two of the same cabling technologies together. Links allow two bus segments to be extended through the use of fiber optics. Hubs also provide for geographic network expansion and media conversion while allowing for star topology. Cascading hubs creates a distributed star topology thereby offering the greatest flexibility in cabling.
MODHUB Series
The MODHUB series is chassis style repeating hub that will accommodate up to four slots of EXP ARCNET expansion modules for a total of 16 ports. The MODHUB is mains powered from either 120 or 220 VAC and includes an integral timing module that supports ARCNET’s default 2.5 Mbps data rate. Populate the MODBUB by selecting EXP modules.

EXP Series
These four-port expansion modules each occupy one slot in the MODHUB. Cabling options include coaxial star, twisted-pair star and fiber optics. Bused segments can be terminated at the hub by connecting to star ports. The mixing of cabling technologies within the hub or even within a mixed media expansion module is possible.

AI Series
The ARCNET Interconnect (AI) Series offers a line of two-port repeaters to extend bus segments, a two-port link that functions as a media converter, and a three-port hub for star topologies. EIA-485 models have variable data rate switches while the coaxial and twisted-pair (dipulse) versions are fixed at 2.5 Mbps.

AI-FR Series
A special version of the AI series supports a fiber optic ring for cable redundancy applications. All versions have three ports. Two are for the ring topology with the remaining port is dedicated to ARCNET stations connected in a bus. A relay contact output indicates a functioning ring.

AI-USB Series
This version of the AI series functions as both a hub and a USB adapter to an ARCNET network. The unit functions as a three-port hub with two external ports and one internal port attached to the USB network 1.1 network. Expansion ports can be either coaxial star or EIA-485.

QuickLink Series
The QuickLink Series mounts on the desktop and is ideal for simple installations. Power is derived from a wall-mounted transformer. Either eight-ports of coaxial star or twisted-pair star (dipulse) are supported. LED indicators identify network traffic.
